Inter School Football Tournament Phek town begins

Under the aegis of the 38th Assam Rifles, Phek Battalion, a four-days long Inter School Football Tournament for both boys and girls kicked off today at the Assam Rifles ground.

A total of 285 students including boys and girls from ten different schools of Phek Town, Losami Village, Phek Village and areas from Phek district will be participating in the tournament. The winner and runners up teams (both Girls and Boys) will be awarded with trophies besides cash prizes and sports kits. A first of its kind in the district, the participating School teachers and students expressed gratitude over the initiative of the Assam Rifles and hoped that more of such tournaments are organized in the future.

The tournament has been initiated with the aim to encourage the local populace and students to instill physical fitness and sports in their life which will further enhancr character building and boost confidence in their lives.
