Programme for distribution of IT equipment was organised by the District Economics & Statistics office, Kiphire on April 15 at DPDB hall, Kiphire.
The programme was attended by the Secretary and Chief Registrar of Birth & Deaths, Nagaland, Akunu S Meyase along with other dignitaries of the department.
In her address, Akunu said, birth and death records are the only legal proof of a person’s existence. Though the Government has directed online registration since April 2022, full implementation is pending. She urged the registrar to work sincerely and the public to co-operate for the success of the exercise. Later she distributed the IT equipment for online registration.
Director and Additional Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths, Neidilhou Keditsu Nagaland Kohima advised the public to co-operate well and provide real time data. He also informed to have Suo Moto registration on birth and death records.

Deputy Commissioner & District Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths, Temsuwati Longkumer in his short speech said, registration of birth is crucial and birth certificate forms the basis of our identity in all the works. He encouraged the registrar and people to pay attention to registration. The programme was chaired by the DESO & District Registrar of Births & Deaths, Holikhum Sangtam
