Jacob Zhimomi, Minister of Public Health Engineering and Cooperation paid tribute to his father Ihezhe Zhimomi calling his mentor and inspiration. The 93-year-old was a minister under the first chief minister of Nagaland, P. Shilu Ao.

Jacob wrote in his post of Twitter, “My guiding force, my mentor and my inspiration – my dearly beloved father, Ihezhe Zhimomi, still going strong at the age of 93”.

He added that his father has been the most instrumental figure in guiding him to where he is today. “Every step I’ve taken and everything I’ve accomplished in my career till date have been possible only because of him. Not a day goes by where I’m not grateful to God for my father; for blessing him with good health and a long life”, Jacob added.

He also shared a picture of his father taken during the moments after taking oath as a Minister to the 1st Nagaland Legislative Assembly (1964) under the chief ministership of P. Shilu Ao.

Jacob Zhimomi is a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and has been consecutively elected in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly election from Ghaspani I since 2013.
