In a series of successful joint operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles in coordination with Manipur Police and other security forces, recovered nine weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores from both hill and valley regions of Imphal East, Tengnoupal, Yangiangpokpi and Churcahandpur districts of Manipur, informed the PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
Based on specific information inputs about the presence of arms and ammunition in general area Ngariyan Hill of Imphal East district, the Army alongwith Police recovered a Light Machine Gun, a 12 Bore Single Barrel Gun, a Pistol, two tube launchers, explosives, ammunition and other war-like stores on 23rd December. Whereas, on December 27 in Tengnoupal District, a joint search operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police resulted in the recovery of a factory-made .303 Rifle, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and grenades. The operation also led to the identification and busting of three hideouts on heights overlooking NH-102.

On December 27 and 28, 2024, security forces received information about movement of arms on road towards Yangiangpokpi. Army immediately established a check post on road leading to Lamlong and carried out a thorough checking and recovered two double barrel and one single bore rifles from two vehicles.
The recoveries have been handed over to Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal.
In Churachandpur District, a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police resulted identifying an under construction post astride NH-2 in K Lhanghnom Vangkho village on 27 Dec 2024. The post is suspected to be used by miscreants. The area is being extensively patrolled and the structure was destroyed to deter potential miscreant activity.
