Kelhoudelie from Angami tribe wins Hornbill Traditional Shot Put Competition

Kisama: Likho Sangma from Garo tribe and Kevisar from Chang tribe gets second and third respectively

The Hornbill Traditional Shot Put Competition organized by the Department of Youth Resource and Sports was held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on 2nd December 2024.

18 Competitors from all the tribes of Nagaland participated in the event. Kelhoudelie from Angami tribe was the winner with a throw of 15.8 feet while Likho Sangma from Garo tribe and Kevisar from Chang tribe came in second and third place respectively.

The traditional games are held daily at Hornbill Festival to showcase and promote the culture and tradition of the Nagas and also to encourage a spirit of competitiveness among the different tribes of Nagaland.
