Kelülü Dawhuo is Miss Universe Nagaland 2025

19 years-old Kelülü Dawhuo, a student of St. Joseph’s College Jakhama, on Tuesday evening outshone 13 contestants to win the debut title of Miss Universe Nagaland 2025 at a sparkling pageant held at the Regional Centre for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA) Jotsoma, Kohima.

Anon Konyak, also 19 years-old, was adjudged the first Runner-Up while 20 years-old Teilih Konyak secured the second Runners-Up spot.

Dawhuo’s swift and poised reply to the common question for the final round where she could create a campaign about global issue, that she aspires to empower girl children and create awareness on inequality towards girls, ensured her place at the top among the four finalists.

Dawhuo, who is also the reigning Miss Kohima 2024 and Miss Nagaland 2nd Runners-Up 2024, emphasized that it has been her advocacy to educate the girl child. She highlighted that her hope is to educate children, specifically girls, by conducting seminars. She believes that every girl has the right to be born and to dream without fear. She expressed that it is through education, that a girl is empowered and when she is empowered, she not only empowers herself but also empowers people around her.

With her win, Dawhuo will represent Nagaland at the Miss Universe India 2025 beauty pageant.

Altogether, 14 contestants vied for the coveted title under the theme “Elegance, Beauty and Empowered Womanhood”.

Reigning Miss Universe India 2024, Rhea Singha was a guest judge at Tuesday’s grand finale.

State Tourism director Veyielo Doulo, who was the special guest at the event, encouraged the contestants to go on and compete at higher platforms and bring laurels to the state.

Some of the major partners of the Miss Universe Nagaland 2025 include Nili Tata Motors (travel partner), department of Tourism, TaFMA (venue partner), Westside (title sponsor and style partner), Anix Crowns (crown partner), Liamtra (business partner), and The Mirage, Essence, Hotel Vivor and Niathu Group (hospitality partners).

The pageant was managed and produced by Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) and Glamanand Supermodel India.
