Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) tests to be conducted at Kohima

The Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland in collaboration with Sports Authority of India, North Eastern Regional Centre, Imphal (SAI NERC Imphal) is set to host the Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI).

The Assessment Tests across various sports disciplines, marking a significant step in identifying budding talent in the region is scheduled from 26th April to 1st May 2024. The assessments will commence at 9:00 AM each day at the IG Stadium, Kohima, Nagaland.

The KIRTI assessment tests will be conducted for the following sports disciplines on the specified dates:

Individuals with a passion for sports and aspiring athletes aged between 9 to 18 years are cordially invited to participate in this prestigious event. Athletes are required to bring their own gear and equipment, including appropriate footwear such as running shoes and sport-specific shoes like football cleats, tailored to their respective sports.

Project KIRTI operates on a meticulously designed pyramidical structure, leveraging scientifically crafted tests to unearth latent potential and nurture it into a robust pool of development prospects.

Through this initiative, SAI aims to establish “Bharat Benchmarks” for performance evaluation, thus spearheading the drive towards excellence in Indian sports. This endeavour not only identifies promising talent but also sets new standards of achievement, heralding a bright future for sports in the nation.
