The sole purpose of the visit by the apex Khiamniungan bodies was to donate basic food items to the victims of the fire tragedy and to offer support and listen to the grievances of those affected.

During the visit, a brief prayer service was held with the pastor, the village council chairman and a few villagers during which the Chiu village members expressed their gratitude for the act of kindness and for all the support received from various organisations and societies during the time of hardship.

Following the fire incident, the villagers of Chiu have been working hard to bring their lives back to normalcy again, with men, women and children working together to rebuild the village. The Chiu villagers who lost their homes from the fire are presently taking shelter at the homes of their relatives and close ones.
