Kiphire celebrates World Music Day

As the world celebrates World Music Day on 21st of June, Kiphire district also witnessed a spectacular igniting spirit for music lovers from across all corners of the district.

The event was organized under District TAFMA partner in collaboration with Stargazer Events, District administration and DK entertainment starting from 6 pm at Kiphire Deluxe point area yesterday. Many young upcoming artist, musicians and dancers delivered impressive performances, as thousands gathered in the area to witness the event.

Leochum V Thonger, TaFMA Kiphire District Partner shared his heartfelt appreciation to the District administration, StarGazer Events, DK Entertainment  (Senti Longchar DHO, Horticulture Dept) for collaborating and partnering with TaFMA (Task Force for Music and Arts) Kiphire District, thus making the 3rd World Music Day a grand success. “Through this event we want to discover young talents in our district and we will help guide and encourage them to step up their potential to the next level,” stated Leochum.

Additionally he said “This year TaFMA will Open House under Kiphire  District, starting next month where the district TAFMA  will select 2 Best Artists from among the contestants who will then be sent to Kohima for further grooming’.

TaFMA will then sponsor these Best Artist who will get a chance to perform at the Hornbill Music Festival 2024, providing them first hand experience at the international stage.

Sharing their views, one attendee Lumthingse said “These kind of events are a good space for young people to express their talents and also focus on the right things of life, we are happy to see these huge crowd gathered”.

Another musician Thinkili who is also the founder of the only District Music academy expressed, “ Many anti- social elements can be lessened if young people get a good platform to explore their potential and this is a good space for music lovers, I express my appreciation to the organisers”

Meanwhile a brief critical awareness on Women empowerment and HIV AIDS was also shared during the event.
