Kohima College strongly condemned “the unfortunate and despising act of Rape” of a minor at Tsiesema Village in Kohima. The Principal, Dr Vitsosoe Vupru, in a press release, informed that the accused perpetrator, Vilie Mere, was a BA 1st Semester student in the institute and that the college was expelling Mere.
“… we are expelling him from the institute with immediate effect”, the principal stated.

Vupru on behalf of the staff and students of Kohima College urged the law enforcing agencies to award “exemplary punishment as per the provisions of law” to the rapist.
The college also extended its heartfelt sympathy to the victim and the family and hoped that they will find the strength to “overcome this darkest misfortune.”
The Kohima Police on Monday notified of the arrest of the accused in the Tsiesema Village rape case, which is registered at Women PS, Kohima. The police had also stated that the Vilie Mere had admitted to the crime.
