Kohima is set to host a round of the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 on August 28 and 29, bringing competitive motorsport simulation, esports and emerging digital technologies to Nagaland.
Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Minister, Nagaland, announced the event at a press conference held at Zone Niathu, 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, on August 25.
The Kohima round will be held at the NBCC Convention Centre and organised by the Nagaland E-Sports Society as part of the wider TXG Expo Nagaland 2026, a two-day event showcasing gaming, esports, technology, artificial intelligence, digital creativity and emerging digital industries.
The F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 is described as India’s first official Formula 1-sanctioned national sim racing championship. The championship is designed to identify and develop the next generation of motorsport talent through competitive simulation racing.
As part of Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited’s nationwide talent identification initiative, aspiring racers will compete on professional-grade Formula 1 simulators, with successful participants progressing through different stages of the championship pathway.
The initiative seeks to establish a structured entry route for young racers into the motorsport ecosystem while creating awareness about career opportunities beyond driving, including motorsport engineering, data analytics, race strategy, simulation technology, team operations, broadcasting and event management.

The F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 carries a total prize pool of ₹2 crore. In addition to the competition prize money, the overall winner will receive an opportunity to participate in Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited’s “One in a Billion Hunt – Agla Star”, supported by a ₹3 crore driver development fund.
The organisers said the initiative is aimed at helping talented young racers take their first steps towards professional motorsport by providing them with competitive exposure and a pathway for further development.
The accompanying TXG Expo Nagaland 2026 will provide a broader platform for young people to explore new-age industries, participate in digital competitions and engage with the rapidly expanding ecosystem of gaming, technology and innovation.
The expo will bring together competitions, workshops, exhibitions and interactive experiences, with the objective of encouraging young people to explore emerging career opportunities and develop skills relevant to the digital economy.
