The four (4) night schools under Kohima Village Students’ Union today held a combine Children’s Day programme at Kohima Village Council.
During the event, Vilalhou Sorhie, President, KVSU spoke on the values of punctuality and obedience, while cautioning against irresponsible use of social media. Sorhie also called upon the students to give their best in their studies and become a respectable person in the society.
During the programme, awards were given to the best student from each Night School.
LSU Night School: Ketoukhrielie Linyü
TSU Night School: Shürhichünuo Phewhuo
DSU Night School: Kevitshulie Keretsü
PSU Night School: Kevisehunuo Mere
The provision of scholarships to achieving students from all the four (4) night schools from the next academic year was announced during the celebration.

The President, further called upon the students to come and be a part of the Kohima Village Sub-Juniors and Juniors Sports Meet 2024 which will be held after the KVSA Sports Meet 2024.
Sorhie also mentioned that the Night Schools for the academic year 2024 will resume as soon as the private and government schools reopens.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Peteneizo Kire, Vice President KVSU, invocation by Ruokuosenuo Sote, Education and Statistical Secy. Teachers from the 4 night schools presented a special performance each, followed by a dance from Ethnic Fusion. Over 200 students from the 4 night schools along with 47 teachers attended the programme.
Examination kits was also provided to all the students.
