Laiket Lembou Oil Pump, an Indian Oil Corporation Limited outlet was inaugurated on Monday at Tuensang, with N Kaimang, President, Tuensang Village Citizens’ Union as the special guest.

In a welcome address, Proprietor, C Bendang Chang expressed gratitude to the village, ward, Church and organisational leaders who made the milestone inauguration possible, and thanked well-wishers for their concern and support. He further urged citizens living in and around the oil pump to take precautions and be responsible in maintaining their personal safety.

In a short speech by M K Yangbou, VCC Chairman, C Khel, Tuensang village expressed how people of the district has been facing oil insufficiency for a long time. He said that the inauguration of the oil pump meant a good sign of development as it will usher in accessibility and convenience to people living away from the town centre. He also urged the Laiket Lembou Union to be the caretaker of this public facility to ensure uninterrupted functioning.

S Chaba, President, Laiket Lembou, informed that the colony in which the oil pump is located “consists of only 65 households but with residents and non-residents with different temperaments”, therefore, requested the service provider to efficiently report to the Union in case of any untoward incidents caused by citizens within the jurisdiction. He also requested the coordination and cooperation of Laiket Lembou to enhance the facility and strive for betterment.

Invocation was pronounced by Noksen Sangla R, Associate Pastor Youth, Jujam Baptist Lashong. C Alem, Associate Pastor Women, JBL pronounced the dedication prayer. The official inauguration and ribbon cutting ceremony was done by the special guest, N Kaimang, President, TVCU.
