In an effort to promote the healthy habit of reading in the community, the Literary Committee of Wangkhao College, Mon set up a Mini Library at Chi Village in Mon district with support and assistance from the Art and Culture Department, Mon, and PHED, Mon and well-wishers.

The library was inaugurated on 23rd May 2024 with the dedicatory prayer pronounced by Pastor, Chi Village.
Principal, Wangkhao College, Dr. T Chandrasekharan graced the programme as the Special Guest and urged the residents of Chi Village to encouragee reading among school going children and alike.

The Literary Committee informed that the Mini Library was as an extension of the College’s work and a “humble step towards fostering reading habits among learners of all ages”.

It expressed hope that “this small spark will one day turn into a Movement of reading among many”. The Committee further noted that reading enriches people in many aspects such as it enhancing cognitive functions, improves vocabulary, strengthens comprehension skill and reduces stress while improving focus.
