The Local Taxi Association Kiphire District carried out a voluntary social work at Helipad ground today.
The social work kicked off early morning where 77 members came forward out of the total 80 registered members under the Association, who cleaned the helipad area where the weeds have dominated the area and posed an unreliable threat to the passengers plying the chopper for their emergency needs.
The 30th Assam Rifles provided morning breakfast, and some well-wishers extended their appreciation and help towards the union in their sincere initiative.
The president of the Association extended his appreciation towards all the members who came forward to the call or duty as a responsible citizens of the district and assured to continue the good work for the society in all ways possible.
It is also noted that the Association have carried out voluntary cleanliness drive and filling potholes in Kiphire Town area on May 28, where the general public applauded their sincere dedication towards making Kiphire Town a better place.
The president while speaking to Nagaland Tribune also mentioned that their union conduct regular social work every month or whenever need be.
At present there are 80 registered members under the Association. It is also worth noting that the Association also carried out cleanliness drive at Public Cemetery Kiphire Town last year, besides other voluntary initiative.

The president also mentioned that the only fund that the Association gets is from the minimal membership fee from the members registered under the Association.
While these contribution of the Taxi Association is a testament of how a responsible citizens and union should be, it is also a lesson where if one union can bring about this small change that matters to everyone and impacts lives, if all CSO’s,district administration and general public come together there is no doubt that one can bring about a beautiful future for the people and society.
While the Association reminded the district administration of the pathetic road conditions in Kiphire Town area, the response has not been fruitful so far. Kiphire is an aspirational district but the roads even at the main town area gets worn-out in few days or heavy rain, which turns into a dust filled zone in summer, and fishery pond during rainy season.
