The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on June 10 at DPDB hall, Longleng under the chairmanship of DC & Vice-chairman DPDB Longleng, W Manpai Phom. The meeting commenced with self-introduction by the new Members.
Reviewing the previous meeting minutes, proposed by the MLA, & Chairman DPDB, A. Pongshi Phom for presentation of meritorious awards to the topper of HSLC and HSSLC, the house agreed to felicitated the students during the Independence Day celebration along with deserving Government officers.
The DC also informed the house that a plantation drive will be carried out along the highway stretch, starting from Alayung towards Longleng town with involvement of all the Government Departments and Village Council Members on June 20.
While discussing on the agenda for installing of smart meter and transformer, SDO (E) Power, Moiching Shembu, informed the house on requirement of transformer. Citing an example he said, EAC Yachem having potential offices closer like CHC, Ayushman Hospital and EAC office requires transformer and LT line.

SDO also stated that Toiching Village being recognised in the year 2025 is the only recognised village that is yet to be electrified. He further highlighted that due to increasing development activities in and around Longleng town, the power demand is also increasing rapidly and the present infrastructure is overloaded and requires serious augmentation and upgradation.
In this regard, the Chairman informed the house that EE (Trans), Transmission Division, Mokokchung, will be invited in the next DPDB meeting to present a detailed report on the status of the district.
District Horticulture Officer Longleng, Talimeren highlighted the department’s projects and schemes implemented at Tamlu area.
The Department of Medical (MS/CMO/DIO) presented the departmental activities through PowerPoint presentation.
The chairman entrusted the Department of Social Welfare to present their activities in the next DPDB meeting, the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the chairman.
