Lotha Officers’ Association condemns NU Prof assault

The Lotha Officers’ Association (LOA) has condemned the act of Prof. Sarat Chandra Yenisetti serving in Nagaland University, Lumami for inflicting physical harm without any reason to a female Asst. Professor on November 25.

“The act Committed is barbaric and unbecoming of an intellectual person in a civilized world. The cruel disregard and harmful physical act towards a lady intellectual by Prof. Sarat Chandra Yenisetti deserve strong condemnation by everyone. The culprit must be awarded severe punishment befitting the heinous act so committed in order to deter such occurrences in the future,” stated the LOA in a condemnation note today.

The Association further conveyed that any attempt to deviate from the law of the land to protect the culprit/accused shall be considered direct confrontation against the Association. Therefore, the Association has requested the concerned authorities to take strong action against the accused as per the prevailing law of the land.

Arresting that the victim of the assault is a bonifide member of the Association and a devoted educator in the University, the LOA shared deep sympathy to Asst. Professor for the physical and mental agony, and wished her a speedy recovery.
