The Lotha Youth Hoho on Monday conducted visits to various government offices in Wokha and Bhandari to check adherence to prescribed office timings and follow up on complaints of irregular attendance among government employees.

The inspections were carried out in continuation of the Hoho’s recent directive calling for strict adherence to office hours and greater accountability in the delivery of government services.

In Wokha, the Hoho visited the offices of the Deputy Commissioner, PWD (R&B), PWD (Mechanical), PWD (Housing), Legal & Metrology, Statistical, Treasury, Art & Culture, Labour, District Information & Public Relations (DIPR), DSCO, District Youth Resource and Food & Civil Supplies departments.

During the inspection in Bhandari, the Bhandari R&B PWD office was found completely shut, while only three Grade IV employees were present at the Soil Department office. They informed the Hoho that two employees were on leave. The Rural Development Block Office, Bhandari, was also found completely closed.

The Hoho also interacted with officials and apprised them of complaints regarding the late arrival and early departure of employees, noting that irregular attendance causes inconvenience to the public, particularly those travelling from distant areas to avail themselves of government services.

It informed the departments that follow-up visits would be conducted to monitor adherence to prescribed office timings and document instances of irregular attendance, which may be brought to the notice of the competent authorities.

The Hoho stated that it would continue to raise concerns over irregularities in government offices in the interest of public welfare and accountability.
