In a press release today, the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) has announced the rescheduling of the Annual MDFA Trophy 2023. Originally planned for September 19, 2023, the tournament will now take place from October 17 to November 3, 2023. The decision to adjust the dates has been made after careful consideration of various factors.
The press release stated that one of the primary reasons for rescheduling the MDFA Trophy 2023 was to align it with the Dr. T. Ao Trophy, a prestigious football tournament. The MDFA had initially adjusted its calendar to accommodate the Dr. T. Ao Trophy, which was slated for October 2023. However, with the recent rescheduling of the Dr. T. Ao Trophy to February 2024, the MDFA Executive Council decided to revert to its original calendar. This adjustment ensures that football enthusiasts have the opportunity to participate in both tournaments without conflicts.

Additionally, the revised schedule for the MDFA Trophy 2023 in October was chosen to provide more favourable weather conditions, enhancing the playing experience for both teams and spectators. Furthermore, considering prevailing health concerns, the new dates align better with safety protocols, ensuring the well-being of all participants and attendees.
MDFA emphasized that the last date for the submission of registration forms and club registration/renewals is September 30, 2023. Clubs and players can obtain the necessary forms from 3 Kits Photo House, Alongmen Ward, Mokokchung Town.
