The grand finale of the “Melodious Lady of Wokha” singing competition took place today, March 17, 2025, at the Tiyi Hall in Wokha. Organised by the Wokha District Administration in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women under the Mission Shakti initiative, the event showcased the talents of singers from various categories.
In his keynote address, Wokha Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar (IAS) emphasised the importance of continuous learning and personal growth. He encouraged the participants, particularly those in the first category, to focus on delivering their best performances instead of worrying about the results. He stressed that the judges would be evaluating the effort and talent, rather than simply the outcome.
Deputy Commissioner Kumar further highlighted that the true essence of such competitions lies not in winning, but in the courage to stand on stage, showcase one’s talent, and push personal boundaries. “Every step you take on this journey is a victory in itself,” he remarked, urging participants to view challenges as opportunities for self-improvement.
He also commended the participants for their dedication, noting that their involvement in the competition demonstrated the strength of character and resilience required to pursue their passions. “Whether you win or not, know that you have already achieved something remarkable by being here today. You are setting an example for others, showing that talent has no limits, and with determination, every goal is within reach,” he added.
