Meriema village celebrated a grand Combined Mass Christmas at Pheriezou Ground, under the theme: “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord’” (Kelakelieu Niepuu Khrista sü penuoliete – Luke 2:11).The celebration showcased the harmony between various Christian groups—Baptist, Revival, Pentecostal, and Catholic congregations—who collaborated under the guidance of the village council to organize this historic event.
Keduolhoulie Huozha, Convenor of Thenyi, expressed immense joy and gratitude, emphasizing how the entire village came together, transcending denominational lines to unite as one family in Christ.
All six khels of Meriema participated, with many villagers traveling from distant places to reconnect with their roots and community during this festive occasion. The celebration began on December 24 evening where the program commenced with Kelhoulezo Shüya, Pastor In-charge, BCM, as the Chairperson.
Neilakuolie Huozha, Pastor, CRC Meriema preached the word of God on the Topic: “The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” (“Kezei-u nu ketuo themiako kezie kezha puo nguliete” (Matthew 4:16))

The key highlights of the event included Song Leader Khrieasetuo Viluo and Instrumentalist Khriebeinuo Keditsu alongside Praise and worship team led by Andrew Praise Team, BCM; Bible Reading from Old Testament by Keduokienyü Huozha, Deacon, Upper Nagabazar Baptist Church followed by New Testament reading by Petekhrienuo Üsou; special songs presented by Catholic Khriesarüü Krotho and Pentecostal Khriesarüü Krotho while greetings was shared by Neidilhou Keditsu, President MVGOK
On December 25, the morning devotional service was led by Siekuolie Yaotsu, Asst. Pastor, CRC Meriema while the worship was led by Kekhriesetuo Keditsu and instrumentalist by Khriesanuo Phewhuo.
The event featured sermons by Rev. Keduolhoulie Shüya, Baptist Church Meriema, focusing on the theme: Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
The celebration began with an invocation prayer by James Thomas, Pastor In-charge, The Pentecostal Church Meriema. This was followed by Bible Reading in the Old Testament by Dziesetseilie Ciesotsu, Deacon, Model Village Baptist Church, 5th Mile Dimapur and New Testament by Vizotuolie Lhousi, Catechist, St. John Vianney Catholic Church Meriema. The CYE, CRC and BKK, BCM presented special songs. The event concludes with a mass feast followed by a talent night show.
