A valedictory programme of the Mid-Career Training for Officers of the Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS) was held on May 8 at the Administrative Training Institute, Kohima, with V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary & APC and Director General ATI as the Special Guest.
The training programme was held from April 27 to May 8 in which 23 Junior Section Officers successfully completed the training. Sharing their experience of the training, the Officer Trainees commented that the training programme had given them confidence to move ahead and motivation to perform better.
In his address, the Special Guest, V Shashank Shekhar IAS, stressed on the importance of training by reminding the officer trainees that learning is a continuous process. He pointed out that the society greatly benefits when the government system functions well.

He further mentioned that the Nagaland Secretariat Service, serving as the backbone in the secretariat, plays a very important role in government machinery and that the society has placed a big responsibility on the officers. The Special Guest called upon all the officers to individually and collectively stay away from corruption and values nepotism, to maintain ethical and integrity, and to strive towards efficient and timely delivery of services in the workplace. He also reminded everyone of the old adage, Health is wealth”.
The valedictory programme was chaired by Peter Konyak, Lecturer. Brief report on the training was delivered by Asalie Lese, Deputy Secretary and Course Co-ordinator. The programme was also attended by Er N Moa Longkumer (Joint Director), Kaholi Sema (Joint Director), and Imlibenla Jamir (Deputy Director).
