Mission Shakti- SANKALP outreach program kicks off in Shamator

Shamator: PMMVY special drive flagged off by SDO Civil, Chessore

The district administration Shamator and District Hub for Employment of Women and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (DHEW-BBBP) Mission Shakti- SANKALP outreach program event was kicked off on 6th November 2024 at GMS Huker, Huker village where Athrong Yimkhiung SDO Civil Chessore highlighted various components under mission Shakti and Child marriage act while Sakurenla AO, CHO of HWC Huker village HWC sensitised the young students on menstrual hygiene and early child marriage.

The second day of the program witness Inter-School Olympiad cum Gender sensitisation seminars and PMMVY special drive program at Chessore village council hall on 8th November 2024, where more than 300 students participated including faculties and staff.

The event also organised some inter competitions under various women centric themes and Drug abuse in the first session. The winners were awarded cash prize and certificates.

The winners of the essay writing competition were- Hanlimla, class-9 of St. Christopher School; Runkhimla, class-7 of Sangto Christian School and Laritola, class-9 of St Christopher School were declared 1st position, 2nd position and 3rd position respectively.

In the painting competition– Royim, class-9 of St. Christopher School; Throngkila, class-10 of Sangto Christian School and Kirila of class-5 of GPS Chessore bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position.

While in the prepared speech competition, Tsurenla Cecilia, Class-8 of St. Christopher School; Kiujila Yim, Class-10 of Sangto Christian School and Shechimchas, class-8 of GHS Chessore bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position.

In the second session, SDO civil Chessore, Athrong Yimkhiung highlighted on the various components of Mission Shakti, and MO PHC Chessore, Dr. Kumrimong T Yimkhiung sensitise the students on gender, early marriage, female health and various health issues. Hesenle Kent, ANM highlighted on menstrual hygiene.

Free sanitary pads and IEC materials were distributed to the students at the events. As part of the event, the PMMVY special drive was flagged off by SDO civil, Chessore in the presence of CDPO, Chessore and staff along with Anganwadi workers of Chessore Sub divisions.

The event was attended by the civil societies, students’ leaders, teachers and faculties of all the Schools under Chessore subdivisions.
