MLA Lima Onen Chang of Noksen constituency convened a meeting on June 1 at SDO © Office Noksen, Tuensang to discuss the situation created by the cyclone on 24th of May 2024, informed a DIPR report.
Speaking during the meeting, Lima Onen Chang highlighted the need for faster response for the relief with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority. He also requested the administration to inquire on every possible help to be availed from the District Administration or be it SDMA to meet these dire needs of the situation.
He visited spot Inspection of the destroyed house and institution in Noksen Town, Noksen Village and Litem village. And also rendered monetary relief to the victims of the disaster. The MLA assured that every possible help will be rendered to the victims and also said to seek government’s intervention at the earliest.

SDO (C) Noksen, Saratho Katiry also reported that a total of 65 houses got completely damaged and 41 partially damaged along with uncountable pig sty, other granaries and huts. Important places like PHC Building, Anganwadi centre, St Thomas Parish, NAP station buildings and GPS Litem were some destroyed by the cyclone he reported.
He also appreciated the MLA Onen’s contribution in his intervention in making the District Disaster Management Authority for instant relief to the calamity victims.
