Chumlamo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Returning Officer (RO), Mokokchung Municipal Council, has given the following notice for nomination to the election of Mokokchung town municipality.
- An election is to be held for a member to ward number 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11,13,14,16 and 17 of the Mokokchung town municipality with ward numbers – 3,6,9,12,15,18 – reserved for women.
- Nomination papers may be delivered by the candidate or his/her proposer to the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) Returning Officer of ADC (Hq) and RO between 11 am and 3 pm on any day (other than a public holiday) from 3 April 2023 (Monday) but not later than 10 April 2023 (Monday) up to 3 pm.
- Forms of nomination papers may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid.
- The nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny on 12 and 13th April 2023 (Wednesday and Thursday) at the office of the ADC (Hq) & RO MMC.
- Notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or his/her proposer or his/her election agent (who has been authorised in writing by the candidate to deliver it) to the office specified in paragraph (2) above at his office before 3 pm on 24 April 2023 (Monday).
- In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on 16 May 2023 (Tuesday) between the hours of 7 am to 3:30 pm.
