Mokokchung Athletics has announced selection trials for eligible athletes of Mokokchung District for participation in the Nagaland State and Para Games 2026 and the 20th National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) 2026.
The selection trials would be held on October 10 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, with reporting scheduled for 7 a.m. The registration fee is ₹100 per athlete.
The trials would also constitute the 2nd Mokokchung District Junior Athletics Meet 2026, which would serve as the selection trials to shortlist eligible and outstanding junior athletes from Mokokchung District for the 20th National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) 2026, scheduled to be held from November 14 to 16 at Woxsen University, Kamkole, Sadasivpet, Hyderabad, Telangana.
Selection Trials for Nagaland State and Para Games
The selection trials for the Nagaland State and Para Games (NSPG) scheduled to be held from November 2 to 14 at Chumoukedima will cover the following events for men and women: 100 m; 200 m; 400 m; 800 m; 1500 m; 5000 m; 10,000 m; Long Jump; Triple Jump; High Jump; Shot Put; Discus Throw; Javelin Throw; 4×100 m Relay; 4×400 m Relay; 4×400 m Mixed Relay; and Cross Country
An athlete may participate in a maximum of two individual events, two team events and the Cross Country event. Only athletes with a valid Athletics Federation of India (AFI) UID number would be eligible.

2nd Mokokchung District Junior Athletics Meet and NIDJAM Selection Trials
The 2nd Mokokchung District Junior Athletics Meet 2026 would be conducted as the district-level selection platform for identifying promising junior athletes for the 20th NIDJAM 2026.
The junior selection is open to eligible athletes in the Under-14 and Under-16 categories.
Under-14 Boys and Girls: Athletes born between November 17, 2012 and November 16, 2014. The minimum age is 12 years as on November 16, 2026.
Under-16 Boys and Girls: Athletes born between November 17, 2010 and November 16, 2012.
Athletes below 12 years of age would not be eligible. Participants must possess a valid AFI UID number, while AFI registration and online entry are required to be completed within the stipulated period.
Junior Events
For Under-14 athletes, the trial would include three triathlon groups:
Triathlon A: 60m, Long Jump and High Jump (Scissor)
Triathlon B: 60m, Long Jump and 600m
Triathlon C: 60m, Long Jump and 600m
Kids Javelin Throw, with a five-metre runway, would be mandatory for all Under-14 athletes.
For Under-16 athletes, the events will be: 60m; 80m; 600m; High Jump (Scissor only); Long Jump (5m approach); Standing Shot Put – 3kg; and Javelin Throw – Boys 600g and Girls 500g.
Mokokchung Athletics has called upon eligible athletes, schools, clubs, coaches and parents to take note of the schedule and ensure that participants report at the venue on time.
The trials would provide an opportunity for athletes from Mokokchung District to qualify for representation at the Nagaland State and Para Games and for promising junior athletes to be shortlisted for the 20th NIDJAM 2026.
