Chaired by Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor Water Resources & Chairman DPDB, the session saw comprehensive discussions and resolutions on key community matters.

Fire Incident at MMC Shopping Complex

Following a report by the ADC & Administrator of Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) regarding the recent fire incident at the MMC Shopping Complex, DPDB resolved to evaluate expert findings from the National Institute of Technology (NIT). A technical committee, under the chairmanship of ADC & Administrator of MMC, was tasked to review the NIT report within two weeks, paving the way for further action.

Graveyard Space Concerns

The issue of limited space in Mokokchung’s graveyard prompted DPDB to pursue additional land allocation from landowners. Moreover, DPDB suggested that MMC formulate a policy to address the burial space scarcity faced by the town’s residents.

Waste Management and Segregation

Deliberations ensued on the reluctance of landowners to continue allowing their land for use as a dumping site. The concerned department was directed to engage with landowners and villagers to reconsider site usage while implementing measures to mitigate pollution.
