The Mokokchung Police has arrested the accused involved in sexually assaulting a three years and four months old girl in Saring village of Mokokchung.

A press release issued by the Addl. Superintendent of Police, PRO, Mokokchung, on August 12 stated that the Mokokchung Police received an FIR stating that on August 10, a three years and four months old girl was sexually abused at Saring village under Mokokchung District.

In this connection, Moakaba Aier (33 Yrs) son of  Lt. Karlijang Aier V/o Akumen (Lirmen) who is a ‘SS’ Sergeant from NSCN (Khango), was arrested and a Criminal Case has been registered at Women Police Station Mokokchung vide case No. 0004/2024 Uts 65(2) BNS R/W 6 POCSO Act.

The arrested accused is presently under Police custody and the case is under investigation, informed the Mokokchung Police.
