Mokokchung Police arrested three accused for possession of illegal IMFL on March 2 while conducting checking at the National Highway, Chuchuyimpang Village. The vehicle Ashok Leyland truck B/R No. AS26AC-1466 which was proceeding towards Mokokchung Town was intercepted, where the Mokokchung Police recovered a huge number of illegal IMFL from the vehicle.

The seized IMFL include 72 cases of 750ml (MC Rum), 80 cases of 375ml (MC Rum) and 638 cases of 180ml (MC Rum), i.e total of 790 cases of MC Rum.

“The driver, handyman and the owner of the consignment were arrested namely: (l) Lensekhea (25yrs) S/O-Shuven V/o-Waphur P/A- Mongsenbai Ward Mokokchung (2) Utpal Das (31 Yrs) S/O Prahlad Das V/O Gondhmow  No-I P/O Gondhmow P/S Sualkuchi Dist- Halo Kamrup P/A- Sualkuchi Kamrup Assam (3) Jaychandra Hazarika (33 Yrs) S/O Lt. Jugen Hazarika V/O Mokrung Tea Estate P/O- Ghiladart PS-Mokrung Dist- Golaghat P/AMokrung Tea estate Assam,” informed a press release by the Addl. Superintendent of Police & PRO.

Accordingly, complaint against the 3 (three) accused person under the NLTP Act has been forwarded to the court for transporting the banned IMFL to Mokokchung Town.
