The Mokokchung Police arrested two accused belonging to the NSCN (Khango) on May 23 in connection with an abduction case.

A press release issued by the Mokokchung Addl. Superintendent of Police and PRO informed that the Mokokchung Police received an information on the abduction of a person from Penli ward Mokokchung for ransom. After payment of Rs.50,000, the victim was released.

“Police personnel swung into action and tricked them in Assam and after a hot pursuit they were arrested and brought back to Mokokchung. In this connection a regular case has been registered as per relevant sections of law. Investigation is ongoing till the filing of this report,” stated the press release.

The accused has been identified as Olemmeren, 21 years, NSCN (Khango) SS Razou Peyu S/O Imtisosang V/O- Yaongyimsen PO/PS- Changtongya and Apong Phom, 32 years, NSCN (Khango) SS. Sectional Officer S/O. Lt. Moba Phom V/O- Yongam PO/PS- Longleng.
