On April 3, Mokokchung Police intercepted one vehicle LP Truck B/R No. NL 02 Q 6311 which was proceeding towards Mokokchung Town while conducting checking at National Highway, Tsusapang Ward. The team recovered illegal IMFL from the vehicle which included 156 bottles of 75() ml (MC Rum) and 288 cane of 500 ml (Kingfisher Beer).

The driver and owner of the consignment namely (1) Dev Raj S/O- Babu Lal R/O- Adivasi Assam P/Add- Watiyim and (2) Mahesh Siyag S/O- Hari Ram Siyag Prahlad Das R/O-Nokha, Bikaner, Rajasthan P/Add- Aolichen were arrested.

Accordingly, complaint against the 2 (two) accused person U/S € NLTP Act was forwarded to the Court for transporting the banned IMFL to Mokokchung Town.

“The Mokokchung Police remain committed to curbing illegal trade and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. The authorities will continue their routine monitoring and enforcement actions to uphold the law,” stated a press release by the Addl. Superintendent of Police & PRO, Mokokchung.
