The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning & Development Board was held on August 13 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon. The Deputy Commissioner Mon and Vice Chairman DPDB, Wennyei Konyak, NCS presided over the proceeding. He welcomed and expressed his gratitude to the DPDB members for their cooperation, responsibilities and sacrifices made during the landslide and flood disasters across Mon District. The DC called upon the new DPDB members for self-introduction. This was followed by reviewing the last meeting minutes.
The proposal for the construction of Airstrip at Lokhipahar, Tizit submitted by the Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Paiwang Konyak was discussed and forwarded to the higher authority. The proposal put forward by the Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) for Drainage infrastructure Development in eastern areas was also discussed and forwarded to the higher authority for approval.

The house also discussed matter related to Independence Day Celebration, where the Deputy Commissioner urged all the Officers, Government employees and NGOs to be responsible with their duties assigned to them for the successful celebration of the Independence Day in the district.
DC also reminded, District Education Officer, Mon to update on the shortage of teachers and officers in the District in the next DPDB meeting to pursue it to the higher authority. He also reminded the members to be prepared for the Governor’s visit in the district next week.
