The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning & Development Board was held on September 15 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon. The Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, presided over the proceeding.

After the review of the previous meeting minutes, the board deliberated and recommended the following proposal to the concerned department for final approval and consideration: Upgradation of GPS Papong to Middle School; Change of School nomenclature from Wangka School to Conerstone High School Aboi; Society registration of Chingtan Community Enterprise & Livelihood Society and Goodwill Angjong Welfare society.

The DC also deliberated on the Reform Utsav and asserted that the aim of the Reform Utsav is to institutionalize citizen’s participation in governance, and he highlighted the Nodal Officer and Members of the Mon District Level Committee for Reform Utsav. He urged the District Nodal Officer to make a plan for district activities and urged all the members to cooperate with the activities.

The house also discussed the celebration of Platinum Jubilee of Mon Town. DC highlighted all the Committees set up for the Platinum Jubilee and urged all the committees to participate sincerely to celebrate the Jubilee successfully. He also highlighted the PM RAHAT Scheme to the members.
