The Mon District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on 16th of July 2026 at DC’s Conference Hall, under the new DPDB chairman, W Chingang Konyak, Advisor Geology & Mining and DUDA.

On behalf of the members, DC Mon Wennyei Konyak welcomed the new chairman and assured full cooperation for the success of the district under his leadership. In his address, the chairman appealed to the officers and members to extend full cooperation for the successful implementation of all the Government schemes and policy in the district. He also called upon all the members to regularly attend the DPDB meeting and to put innovative schemes for the district. The chairman also gave away the prizes to meritorious students for class 10 and 12 under Mon district.

Earlier, the meeting begins with review of the last meeting minutes followed by discussion of new agendas. After a thorough deliberation, the board approved and forwarded the proposal for introduction of Arts stream at New Model College Wakching, creation of Primary School at Longwa village and construction of PWD road (1.5 km) at Tobu town.

The board also discussed and approved the schemes under LADP for the financial year 2026-27 including Iconic & Skill Development of all the 9 Assembly Constituencies under Mon District.
