Mon: Epidemiologist informs of suspected Measles outbreak at Chinglong Village, says situation under control

Mon District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) conducted a meeting on 28th August 2024 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS.

The Chairman while welcoming the members said that this meeting is conveyed for a solution to prevent the diseases. He encouraged to form a Block Level Task Force for the smooth functioning and also to mobilize the challenges in the grass root level. He also said to collect monthly data from the block, not only immunization but also other schemes like ICTC reports. He inquired about the vaccine storage like refrigerators/freezers in the district are working properly, and also encouraged the people for institutional delivery.

Chief Medical Officer, Mon & DTFI member Secretary, Dr. Supongmenla Walling gave a Power Points Presentation from ANC to Fully Immunized, in Block wise within Mon District of 4 (four) Months (April to July 2024).

Dr. K. Elizabeth K, Epidemiologist, gave a PowerPoint Presentation on Measle Rubella Surveillance Reports in the District. She also highlighted the suspected Measles outbreak at Chinglong Village and said that it is under control. All are treated well and recovered.

District Welfare Officer, Yanlem explained that as per higher authority, the Department is providing food supplements to Mothers and the Children.
