Mongsenbai ward moved into the final of the 7th Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament 2026 after defeating Tongdentsuyong ward 6–0 in the second semi-final played at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on April 2.

Tongdentsuyong failed to find the net, while Mongsenbai dominated proceedings from the start. The half-time score stood at 3–0 in favour of Mongsenbai, before they added three more goals in the second half to seal the win.

Goals for Mongsenbai came early, with Nungcheter (8) opening the scoring just 45 seconds into the match. Suponglemba (3) extended the lead with a brace, netting in the 15th and 37th minutes to make it 3–0 at half time.

After the break, Imnatoshi (19) struck in the 47th minute, followed by goals from Ashish (10) in the 52nd minute and Menjur (11) in the 67th minute, completing the 6–0 scoreline.

With this result, Mongsenbai advance to the final where they will face Sungkomen ward. The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be played on April 4 at 1:00 pm at Imkongmeren Sports Complex.

The title clash will also determine whether the 7th Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament will see a new champion in Sungkomen or a return to the top for Mongsenbai, who are aiming to lift the trophy for the second time, having previously won the 3rd edition.

Rongsenshilu will grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour for the final.

L.Yanger Lemtur, Vice President of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), graced the occasion of the 2nd Semi final match as the match patron.
