MoS for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar holds meeting with CSS implementing depts in Nagaland

Kohima: Union Minister assures that all suggestions and challenges faced by Nagaland has been duly noted

The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, Bandi Sanjay Kumar convened a review meeting with the line departments of the centrally sponsored schemes in Nagaland on 18th November 2024 at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima. The Union Minister is on a two-day visit to the State.

In his welcome address, Chief Secretary, Nagaland Dr. J Alam, IAS, said that the review meeting with the senior officials was convened to get an overview of the various schemes and programs being implemented by the state government with assistance from the Government of India. He also said the meeting will review all the flagship programs and also overseeing the progress being made in the exploration schemes and aspirational blocks.

Alam also gave a brief overview of the State and highlighted some major ongoing projects in the state like four lane, national highways, railway projects connecting the state and many other iconic projects with central assistance.

After thorough deliberations with the CSS implementation department and other centrally sponsored schemes, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar assured that all the suggestions and challenges faced by the state has been duly noted and it will be put forth for further necessary action to the Central Ministry.

The highlights of the meeting included:

– Representatives of Kiphire, Zunheboto and Noklak districts highlighted the progress and challenges faced by the Aspirational Districts/Blocks in Nagaland.

– Presentation on the status of implementation of National Oil Palm Mission recently launched by M/o Agriculture & Farmers Welfare by the Agriculture Department.

– Status of the centrally sponsored schemes for the year 2024-25 Government of Nagaland was presented by the Planning Department.

– Various CSS implementing departments and aspirational districts also shared their challenges faced during the implementation of the schemes during the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Home Commissioner, Nagaland, Vyasan R, IAS.
