Motor Vehicles Department launches Digital Payment services across Nagaland

Kohima: Initiative aims to enhance transparency, operational efficiency and speedy service process

The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), Government of Nagaland, has launched Digital Payment services across the State in all its RTO and DTO offices in collaboration with HDFC Bank, informed the DIPR. With the launch of this service, citizens can now transact digitally the taxes and fees relating to motor vehicles services with Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI QR Code along with Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm.

This initiative aims to enhance transparency, operational efficiency and speedy service process, speedy delivery and citizen convenience.

Commissioner & Secretary, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS on behalf of the Government, launched the service in the presence of Transport Commissioner Elias T. Lotha, with officials from HDFC Bank headed by its Cluster Head, Lansingam Panmei on 19th July 2024 at the Transport Commissionerate, Kohima, Nagaland.

Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS stated that this initiative is yet another milestone in the harnessing of technology in the governance system and in the service of the citizens. He emphasized the importance for meticulous approach in constant upgradation of working methods and systems to finally arrive at total digitization of transactions and services.
