MP Jamir condoles demise of Dr Senka Yaden; AKM calls for 1 min silence on 17 Mar in Mokokchung schools

S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) & President, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed sadness over the passing of Dr. Senkalong Yaden, on 15th March, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, USA.

“An accomplished scholar and academic, a devoted family man and a principled person till the very end, his demise is an irreparable loss not just to his family, but also to untold lives and communities here in Nagaland and in the USA,” the MP stated in a condolence message.

Jamir also conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family on his behalf and also on the Party’s behalf.

Meanwhile, the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has requested all school and educational institution under the jurisdiction of Mokokchung District to observe one minute of silence on 17th March 2025, as a mark of respect and remembrance for late Dr T. Senka Yaden’s valuable contribution towards the people. The Ao Senden had earlier declared 17 March as a day of mourning.

In its condolence message, AKM expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr Yaden, who was listed in the “American Men and Women of Science” and was popularly known as American Man of Science. He was a distinguished Scientist, Educator, and a Researcher. His immense contributions to the field of science and education have left an indelible mark, inspiring generations, AKM President Lanutoshi Aier and General Secretary, Satemmongba, stated.

The apex Ao student body also stated that late Dr. Yaden’s dedication to knowledge and research was a source of pride for the Ao community, the Naga people, and the Global Scientific Community. it added that late Dr. Yaden’s remarkable academic journey and professional achievements reflect his dedication and hard work.

The Union also extended condolences to the bereaved family, his wife, and all those mourning his passing and prayed that God grants them strength and solace in this difficult time.
