Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, S Supongmeren Jamir, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their prompt and coordinated response following the collapse of a portion of National Highway-2 near the Kisama exit gate.
“I would like to sincerely thank all the stakeholders who acted with exemplary proactiveness and rallied together in unison,” the MP said, following a visit to the affected site.
“During my follow-up today, I was deeply encouraged to witness the spirit of unity and swift action demonstrated by various groups,” he said and especially acknowledged the Phesama Village Council, affected landowners, District Administration, NHIDCL, and the contractor for their immediate and coordinated response, which has led to the commencement of repair work from today.

Recognizing NH-2 as a vital lifeline for both intra- and inter-state connectivity, Jamir appreciated the assurance given by NHIDCL officials and the contractor that the restoration will be completed within ten days. He urged them to stay committed to this goal and ensure its timely realization.
“This collective effort is a strong reminder of how much we can achieve when we come together in times of need,” he stated, encouraging all involved to continue working in unity for the greater public good.
