The Assam Rifles apprehended a Myanmarese drug peddler on 9 May 2023 at Longwa Village in Mon District, Nagaland and recovered Sunflower drugs from his possession.

As per sources, the Myanmar national whose identity has not been revealed, was smuggling Sunflower drugs in 3 soap cases. The worth of the drugs is said to be approximately Rs 50,000 in Indian currency.

Rs 25,400 Indian currency notes were also found in the individual’s possession.

The peddler was apprehended during a search carried by Assam Rifles at Indo-Myanmar check post at Longwa.
