Three officials from Nagaland attended a one day meeting of State Secretaries (Planning & Statistics) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on November 14, 2024 which was led by Akunu Meyase, Secretary, Economics and Statistics.
The meeting is being organized by the Ministry of Statistics and programme implementation specifically to improve the statistical systems in the country. The meeting dwelled strictly on the major statistical components that the ministry is implementing with various agencies.
During the meeting, the support for statistical strengthening sub scheme, which is a 100 % central sector scheme being implemented by the Ministry, was reviewed. To further take forward the scheme the World Bank is taking a step ahead to revamp the scheme to be more diverse and inclusive.

The other areas of discussion are the forth coming 8th Economic Census which is scheduled to be started on 1st April 2025, matter regard to methodology and estimate to GSDP, IIP and CPI, especially to come up with sub state estimates, conduct of National Sample Survey 80th Round which is proposed to be carried out through the Computer Aided personal interview(CAPI) and Data Innovation Lab which will use AI to produce and provide data.
