Nagaland BS&G Jamborette concludes at Nerhema

The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides organized the State Jamborette from October 6 to 10. The valedictory program was graced by Dr Kekhriehoulie Yhome, Advisor, School Education and Vice-Patron (Honorary), Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guide, as special guest on October 9 at STC, Nerhema

A Rajya Scout recipient, the highest state-level award for Scouts, and a trained Scout Master, Dr. Yhome urged participants from the State’s 10 districts to encourage greater enrolment of boys in Scouts and girls in Guides. He also called for more frequent organisation of the State Jamborette to motivate young people to join the movement, develop their scouting skills, and participate in national and international events.

The event featured 11 competitions, with contingents vying for the overall championship. The competitions included folk song, folk dance, quiz, colour party, district exhibition, food plaza, pageant show, campcraft, district gate and pioneering project.

Besides the competitions, activities such as morning BP exercises, friendship games and indigenous games were organised to promote interaction, cultural exchange and appreciation of diversity among participants. Zunheboto Scouts and Guides presented a folk dance, while Mokokchung district emerged as the overall champion.

Beating of the retreat was played by the Hauyang Choba Pipe Band and the flags of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and Jamborette were lowered which officially brought the eventful Jamborette to a solemn close.

The programme was compered by Kekhrieselhou Theünuo; welcome address was delivered by VK Sahu, State Commissioner (Scout); Vote of thanks was proposed by Temsurenla Ao, Joint State Secretary and Member Secretary, Jamborette Organsing Committee and Meyiengonu Üsou, Evangelist, Koinonia Prayer Centre, Tsiese Basa offered the Thanks giving prayer.
