Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman had earlier confirmed to attend the CSR Conclave on July 4 and 5, but later postponed citing unforeseen circumstances.

The Finance Minister will also visit the Nagaland Heirloom Centre and is also likely to visit Mon district for the inauguration of an Axis bank in the district, Jamir said.

Jamir stressed that the presence of the Finance Minister at the event, who is also in-charge of Corporate Affairs, will be a big boost and push for the corporates to be more proactive in coming forward to help in the development of the state through CSR.

He also informed that the Secretary, Department of Financial services which looks after all the banks in India will also be visiting the state along with the Finance Minister. He also said, that the Confederation of Indian Industries will be bringing in more than 50 corporates to interact with the youths to explore investment opportunities in the state.

Jamir, further said that Nagaland has not been accessing its due share of CSR activities, adding that the state receives only 0.006% out of about Rs. 24,000 crore. The conclave is thus being organised to attract more investors in the state.

The three-day conclave will witness three events taking place simultaneously – the CSR Conclave, the Bankers Meet and Investors Meet.
