Nagaland Election: Combined forces conducts flag march at Kiphire

Kiphire: SP Kiphire said around 2000 police personnels are prepared for their duties for ensuring fair democracy during this election

Flag march was carried out in Kiphire on Thursday with the objective to ensure peace and harmony in view of the forthcoming State Assembly Elections.

The flag march, led by the Superintendent of Police Kiphire with a combined forces of Kiphire police, CAPF and SAP, was also aimed at reinforcing public confidence in law and order machinery and also in building friendly relations between the police and the public.

It was also initiated under two other sub- division of Kiphire District namely Pungro Town and Seyochung Town.

In an interview to media SP Kiphire, K Swarnambika, IPS said that around 2000 police personnels which includes CAPF (Central Armed Police Force), Kiphire Police, SAPF (State Armed police force), UP police and Assam police are prepared for their duties for ensuring fair democracy during this election.

Kiphire police has been taking many initiatives and preventive measures to ensure peace, she said. “The cooperation of the general public, civil societies, tribal organizations, political parties, colony Chairmen, village elders and media are rendering an excellent coordination with the police department for ensuring peaceful atmosphere in the district” the SP added.

She appealed to the general public to exercise their franchise wisely, giving a strong message that the department will not compromise with any anti-social activities during this election.

SP Kiphire stated that the department is awake 24×7 for public service.

The SP added that the department have identified vulnerable hotspots under the district and have already deployed the police personnel to ensure proper democracy is exercised.

In her address to police personnel at Local Ground, she said, “Our uniforms may be different, but our objectives are same to stand and serve our Nation”, after which all police personnel marched around the designated area of the town ‘to build public confidence’.

The flag march began from Local Ground Kiphire – DC ward (via DPRO office), Bazaar – Delux Point , SBI – Helipad Ground.

Additional SP Kiphire, who is the Nodal Officer, issued the public Helpline number for Kiphire citizens for any aid (+91-6009308147) which will be available 24×7.
