Nagaland Governor calls for commitment, dedication towards welfare of society

Kohima: Nine new patrons, two vice patrons decorated by Governor and CM

Nagaland Governor and President IRCSN La Ganesan, addressing the 36th Annual General meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch at Dr Imkongliba Ao memorial Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima on Thursday, called upon the gathering to commit and dedicate towards the well-being and welfare of our fellow citizens and society as a whole.

He expressed his gratitude to the IRCSN and its volunteers for their incredible work done in the past year. He commended the efforts of the IRCSN in providing relief and support to the fire victims of Solou village in Myanmar, the various blood donations drives, etc.

The Governor underscored that it is imperative that we continue to foster strong partnerships and collaborations with government agencies, non-governmental organizations and the community at large to achieve their goals. He also reminded that we must build a resilient and compassionate society that stands ready to support and uplift those in need through oneness.

The Governor also extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the members of the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland for their unwavering dedication and selfless service and further urged them to carry forward the noble legacy of the Red Cross and continue to serve as a beacon of hope and support for those in need.

Both the Governor and the Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio decorated nine new patrons, two vice patrons and also handed over appreciation certificates to various members.

Rio, who is the Vice President, also acknowledged the IRCSN officials particularly the Chairperson IRCSN Abeni TCK for her yeomen and dedicated service for the last 30 years.

Akhale V Khamo, General Secretary IRCSN, read out the report on the business session, including the various activities and relief works undertaken by the IRCSN.

The program was attended by MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe, former legislators Dr. Nicky Kire and H Khehovi, Chief Secretary J. Alam, DGP Rupin Sharma, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, Commissioner Nagaland T Mhabemo Yanthan and the DCs who are also the IRCSN District Presidents, and other invitees.

Principal St. Joseph College, Jakhama Dr. Fr. Keduolhou George Angami invoked God’s blessing and special song was presented by Christ the King Church Choir. Managing Committee Member IRCSN Dr. R. Rose Chakhesang delivered the vote of thanks.
