Nagaland Judges’ Association congratulates Yarengjungla Longkumer

The Nagaland Judges’ Association (NJA) has congratulated its member Yarenjungla Longkumer for creating history as the first woman of a Judicial Officer and among the Nagas in the State to be elevated to a status of a High Court Judge.

“She was top one candidates directly recruited to grade-I higher judiciary conducted by the Hon’ble Gauhati High Court in the year 2013, during her career as Judicial Officer, she has worked as the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kohima, Dimapur where cases pendency are highest. Served as Registrar of the Kohima Bench and till her elevation was a Secretary (Judicial) to Law and Justice Department, Nagaland. Having worked as an Administrator, as a Judge of trial Court as well as Appellate Court in subordinate judiciary, she has acquired deep knowledge about the rule of law and skills of an administration which will enable her to render justice to litigants as she sits in the Chair of justice of the Hon’ble Gauhati High Court,” stated the Association in a press release issued today.

As Longkumer administers to an oath of the new Office, the Nagaland Judges’ Association conveyed its best wishes, good health and prayed for God’s protection in her endeavour to deliver justice to litigants.
