Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 begins Monday; event to be livestreamed

The Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 is set to begin on 12th February with Dimapur and Chümoukedima as the joint hosts.

Athletes representing all the 16 districts of Nagaland will compete in 15 sports disciplines, which include Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Lawn Tennis, Pencak Silat, SepakTakraw, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Wrestling, Belt Wrestling and Wushu. The paralympic games will not be based on inter-district teams.

All the sports and games at the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 will be live streamed on the Nagaland Olympic Association’s official channel YouTube channel.

On Sunday, the NOA official theme song for 2024, “We’re Stars” by Nagaland Collective was released on YouTube. The song is “imagined” by Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA).

Previously on 9th February, the NOPG 2024 trophies were unveiled in the presence of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland and President of the Nagaland Olympic Association. The following day, the medals were unveiled.

The Men’s T20 Cricket tournament is already underway. The final match will take place at Sovima Cricket Ground on 12th February between Chumoukedima and Niuland.

The NOPG 2024 Mens Football event also kicked off on 8th February.
