The Nagaland Police has made 16 arrests in two weeks in connection to drugs and illicit liquor cases, DIPR informed. The police, through a press release, stated that it continues to launch Statewide Operations in all the district of Nagaland in order to combat the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances and IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) and its effects on the youth.
Intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids and checking of hotels, restaurants, etc., has been launched to prevent any such illegal activity, it said.

Nagaland Police further appealed to the general public to provide information of sale/distribution of any form of Narcotics/Drugs/IMFL etc., to the nearest Police Station or Narcotic Police Station. The CUG (Closed User Group) phone numbers of various Nagaland Police Officers & Police Stations is available in ‘Call Your Cop’ mobile App. The identity of the informant shall be kept confidential, it added.
