A team of researchers led by Dr. Viheno Iralu, Asst. Professor from Nagaland University and Dr. Meguovilie Sachu, Biochemist from the Chief Medical Office, Kohima, Govt of Nagaland has been selected to participate in the Sakura Science Exchange Program 2025, to be held in Japan from October 26 to November 1, 2025. The delegation will visit prominent universities and research institutions across Okayama, Kyoto, Kurashiki, and Osaka as part of the scientific and cultural exchange initiative, informed the Nagaland University PRO.
The team includes six other young researchers representing various scientific disciplines. Fully funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) under the Sakura Science Exchange Program, and hosted by Prof. Takahashi Yuichiro from Okayama University, Japan, the program aims to promote international collaboration, innovation, and mutual understanding between Japan and other Asian countries through short-term visits and academic interactions.

During the exchange, participants will take part in lectures, laboratory visits, discussions with Japanese researchers, and cultural immersion activities. These experiences are expected to strengthen academic collaboration and inspire young researchers to pursue global scientific engagement and innovation.
